Family FAQ

What does a normal day at camp look like and what is expected of me?

  • A normal day of camp starts will breakfast, and proceeds with games, crafts, fishing, swimming, eating meals/endless snacks, skits, singing, etc.. The activities listed are only a small example of all of the things that may happen throughout the week. All activities are built for you, and participation is encouraged, but not mandatory (although, we have not met anyone who doesn’t want to participate 100% of the time).

What activities should I be prepared for?

  • Everything listed above, but please refer and follow the packing list that will be provided to you closer to camp dates and upon acceptance to camp.

What do I bring to Camp Agape Northwest?

  • Camp is mostly outdoors, so it can get hot during the day and cool at night. Make sure to bring shorts, sweatshirts, pants, etc., with a few extra things to spare. Camp can also be messy at times with minimal laundry access. Please bring extra clothes, and things you do not care about if they get a little messy. A packing list will be shared as camp gets closer - don’t forget your swimsuit!

Is there a nursing staff on site? Do I need to worry about bringing all of my medication to camp?

  • There is a nursing staff on site 24/7. They will take care of all medications (over the counter, prescriptions, supplements, vitamins, etc.) to the nursing staff for safety. The nurses are available anytime to give you the medication(s) you and/or your child needs.

Is there any rest time at camp? Can my child have their regular rest/nap times?

  • Camp can be exhausting. There is a built in time for rest periods. Please feel free to stick to normal routines for nap and quiet time if needed. The downtime at Camp each day has been created to give you time to rest, or hang out with each other. If this time does not work for you, activities at camp (arts and crafts, etc) will remain open so you can continue to participate at Camp and take that time later if needed. Volunteers will be able to assist you with anything you need during this time, including staying with your child while you go for a swim or have a milkshake.

What happens if I forget something I need?

  • No problem! We might already have what you need, but if we don’t, please talk to Camp Leadership when these needs arise.

Where do I stay when I get to camp?

  • All families stay in rustic style cabins with bunk beds. Please bring your own bedding (sleeping bags work great), but if this is a barrier, please reach out to our family coordinator at families@campagapenw.org. Some cabins have bathrooms, and others have bathroom facilities close by. if your family has a specific need for a bathroom, the Family Coordinator can help with arrangements.
